Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/03/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Correctional psychiatrist needed for on! going coverage at medium security State Prison in Bridgeton, N.J. Immediate start; possible permanent placement for the right provider. Full time, Monday-Fridays; no weekends, no call. Physician duties include outpatient medication management and providing leadership to a multidiciplinary treatment team. Great rates! A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
