Ensures efficient daily operations of the Vascular Department. Assigns resources as needed. Assists the manager in conducting special projects and studies.
Specific Responsibilities:
____ Positions and transfers patients.
____ Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
____ Assists physician in administering procedure.
____ Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
____ Secures and returns supplies, film, linen, medicine and patient folders.
____ Consults with others to obtain a complete clinical history and gathers pertinent clinical data.
____ Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
____ Maintains an orderly, safe and clean working environment.
____ Assists in allocating personnel to satisfy workload demands in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
____ Performs scheduled Quality Assurance testing activities required by State, federal and local regulatory agencies. These testing activities are to be performed as outlined in Radiat! ion Physicist Quality Assurance Manual.
____ Prioriti! zes daily work schedule to most effectively process patients requiring vascular services. Prioritizes patients based upon clinical indications and physician referrals.
____ Ensures that vascular services have ample supplies and materials needed to operate on a daily basis. Orders and maintains standard supplies for department.
____ Ensures that all regulatory requirements for vascular are met and documented. Follows up and implements changes on deficiencies. Displays full knowledge of vascular regulations.
____ Communicates equipment problems or concerns to Manager, Sono Imaging or Administrative Director. Makes service calls as needed. Presents documentation to Director for processing of payment.
____ Assists in conducting and monitoring special projects or audits.
____ Clinically instructs students in vascular technique.
____ Conducts in-services with staff regarding departmental quality control operations.
__! __ Assists with updating clinical vascular procedure manual.
____ Assists in complying with Federal and State regulations, codes and inspections.
____ Participates on various committees including department quality control and radiology Performance Improvements. Provides valuable input when possible.
____ Suggests cost containment efforts which maximize department effectiveness and image.
____ Develops and suggests implementation and monitors new procedures and protocols to enhance department operations.
____ Participates in department in-service education efforts and attends seminars and conferences on issues pertaining to department operations.
____ Differentiates anatomical abnormalities and report to vascular surgeon.
____ Differentiates vascular abnormalities by identifying subtle changes of sound.
____ Protects self and patients from injury through careful observation.
____ Maintains and ! respects confidentiality
____ Complies with Hospital dress cod! es by wearing ID badge and maintaining professional appearance.
____ Demonstrates commitment to own work schedule by adhering to attendance standards.
____ Utilizes time in an effective manner.
____ Adjusts personal schedule in case of fluctuations in workload of the department.
____ Demonstrates ability to recognize priorities and deal with them promptly.
____ Attends all staff meetings.
____ Reports any suggestions or positive changes to supervisor.
____ Incorporates physiological and developmental age of patients into overall
plan for delivery of care.
____ Utilizes vascular reporting system.
____ Utilizes the PACS system.
____ Provides on-call coverage as necessary per the needs of the Department.
____ Performs other duties as assigned.

____ ! Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening/weekend hours in order to meet the operational needs of the Department and/or the Hospital.
____ Responsibilities will require the ability to read, write and rationally comprehend the English language.
____ Must be able to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that quality service is provided to clients and physicians.
____ Utilizing any or all Hospital provided equipment and/or safe work procedures; employee shall be required to lift all objects as is practicable.
____ The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements of this job, including but not limited to, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing. Must be able to stoop, kneel and/or climb

Minimum Qualifications
! Education, Skills & Experience Required:
Associate Degree in! Ultrasonography; RDMS or RVT certified required. 1-3 years as Vascular or Ultrasound tech is preferred.
