- Responsible for providing direct clinical care for pediatric emergency department patients.
- Provides direction, leadership, and supervision for fellows, residents, interns, medical students and midlevel practitioners.
- Participates in the delivery of the pediatric emergency medicine curriculum and educational conferences that reflect new leading-edge science, technologies, and pediatric emergency medicine core curriculum knowledge.
- Maintains all academic and clinical performance expectations of attending teaching staff as defined by Department policy.
- Participates in successful strategies for achieving regional and national prominence in pediatric emergency medicine; enhances the successful business management of the Pediatric ED through extramural and intramural grant funding, philanthropy, and new business initiatives; develops research initiatives that enhan! ce public health in our community.
- Supports and complies with the Department's policies and procedures for compliance and accreditation with all academic and clinical State and Federal regulatory agencies such as TJC, NJ DOH, CMS, EMTALA, ACGME, RRC-EM and the AOA.
- Complies with all rules and regulations, bylaws, and policies of the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and its Medical Staff, Barnabas Health, and all applicable State, Federal, and regulatory agencies.
- Attends one Department of Emergency Medicine staff meeting and one residency/fellowship academic conference per quarter.
