Radiology Technician

• Certification Required
• Experience is preferred

Under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse, participates as a member of the! OR team in planning, preparing and providing as safe and effective OR experience for patients undergoing surgery.

During times when there are no radiology activities, the employee will work on computer to update AMKAI operating system, perform case logging, filing, assist in CPD and pre-op areas, facilitate case flow throughout the facility and other duties as assigned by the management.

High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology . Maintain State certificate as a Certified Radiology Technician with fluoroscopy permit Minimum of 3 years O.R. experience preferred. Surgical center experience preferred.

BLS certification required. interpersonal skills required. Shows initiative and possesses good problem solving skills. Ability to use special imaging equipment.

Risk of exposure to undiagnosed communicable diseases and contaminated fluids (OSHA exposure classification I) Direct patient contact! and may be involved in physical crisis with uncontrollable pa! tients. Exposed to electrical and mechanical hazards, anesthetic and other gases, sharps and potentially stressful/unpleasant situations.

Ability to lift, move and position patients. Stands and walks for extended periods of time. Fine and gross manual dexterity. Near and far visual acuity. Must be able to stoop, bend, push and pull. Able to transport patients (up to 300lbs) via wheelchair, stretcher or chair. Ambulate patients without assistance. Able to hear equipment alarms, call lights, telephone and through a stethoscope. Read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to act quickly and effectively in an emergency. Able to maintain a pleasant, courteous and professional demeanor in all circumstances.
