The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologiesâ€"including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devicesâ€"that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Speci! alties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoraci! c conditions, women’s health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Ethicon Surgical Care business combines products and services of two market-leading legacy companies, both with long histories of medical innovation. The Supply Chain Project Leader reports to the Manager, Global Supply Chain Projects. This position is responsible for the planning, alignment and execution of Supply Chain activities related to approved and funded projects. Projects will include: new product introductions, product line extensions, lifecycle management ch! anges, etc. This role will plan for seamless transitions from the 'as is' configuration to the 'to be' state. All work in this area should incorporate Six Sigma, Project Management Excellence and Lean. This role ensures that projects support the achievement of the PLAN metrics for the Ethicon franchise by driving results in customer service and inventory. This role will support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align with Demand & Supply Planning to ensure capacity is appropriately utilized for planning and scheduling functions.

The Supply Chain Project Leader will drive improvements in Global Supply Chain Projects processes. This role will participate in cross functional teams and provide input for Global Supply Chain strategy across projects and platforms. This role will also coach/mentor Supply Chain Project Specialist(s) and Coordinator(s).

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree required; preferably in one of the following areas: Bus! iness, Finance, Logistics and/or Engineering. A minimum 4 years of tota! l work experience is required in the area of Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Project Management and/or related field. Experience working in Materials Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering and/or Finance is preferred. Project management experience is strongly preferred. Project Management Institute (PMI) or Association for Operations Management (APICS) certification preferred. Knowledge of Advanced Planning System (APS) and Structured Query Language (SQL) is preferred. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) planning tools (i.e. JDEdwards - JDE, Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing - SAP) is preferred. Supply or Demand Planning experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills are required. MS Office skills required (Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects and Power Point). The ability to partner interdependently with cross-regional leadership and influence decision-making across multiple functional organization! s and levels is required. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to create, cultivate and implement change, are preferred. Knowledge of Lean material flow, planning and scheduling is preferred. Six Sigma/Process Excellence training and/or certification is preferred. Up to 10% domestic and international travel is required. This position must be located at the Ethicon Facility in Somerville, NJ.
