Description Assistant Director for Clinical Services JFK Medical Center / Edison, NJ Great Opportunity to Advance Your Clinical Career! Description: As a Clinical Manager you will plan, organize, control, and supervise the pharmacy’s clinical activities. In particular, you will promote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through the development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies, and other programs. You will serve as a clinical resource for the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services at the site level, build effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments within the hospital and company, and coordinate all activities related to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and formulary management. You will serve as a clinical pharmacy resource for the health-system and its affiliated pharmacy services. Responsible for implementing a decentralized clinical model & clinical competency of staff.

Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D. required
  • Current NJ pharmacist license in good standing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of pharmacists and other health care professionals to review, develop, implement and monitor clinical programs, therapeutic initiatives and other drug use policies and practices
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a staff pharmacist or residency in an ASHP accredited program in a hospital-Residency and/or advanced clinical training preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology, including complex equipment and delivery systems
  • Problem solving ability and analytical thinking required
  • MS office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Facility: JFK Medical Center, an affiliate of Solaris Health System, is a 535-bed acute care hospital consisting of the 441-bed Anthony M. Yelencsics Community Hospital and the adjacent 94-bed JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute and a Satellite ED in Plainfield, NJ. The medical center features a complete array of services, including general surgery, emergency medicine, mental health, orthopedics, maternity and pediatric care programs. They also offer the JFK Regional Cancer Center, Haven Hospice Unit, JFK Imaging Center and the JFK Family Practice Center. Pharmacy : The 24/7 fully automated (McKesson Robot), clinically active pharmacy at JFK Medical Center is in the process deploying pharmacists to patient care areas. It is staffed by 58 pharmacy professionals and has a dynamic management team, including a Assistant Directors of Operations & Clinical, a Clinical Manager, two operations supervisors and a purchasing agent. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
