JOB SUMMARY:
Position responsible for collaborating with practices and 3rd parties (Practice Management, labs, device manufacturers, etc.)
to develop, design, test, support new and existing interfaces between EMR and various other systems, both internal and external.
Goal to increase potential revenue areas within HITS organization and have platforms integrate with practice management, medical devices,
hospital interfaces, data exchanges.
Scope of Authority:
Works with both internal and external customers to include other engineering architecture teams, labs and those doing data analytics
work. Supervise and manage work of 3rd party contracto! rs.
Key Accountabilities:
Analysis, design! , development, documentation, testing and implementation of new interfaces. Work closely with other developers,vendors and customers to integrate with other applications.
Maintain and support new and existing code.
Provide excellent customer service support to end users and other IT teams.
Implement, modify, support already developed interfaces.
Infrequent Travel within the US.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Experience in medical systems, EMR systems preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred with minimum of 6 years experience or, high school diploma with 10 years equivalent experience required.
At least four years’ experience working with HL/7.
Experience with commercial interface engines preferred.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with old, new and emerging healthcare interface standards. This includes HL7, CCR and CCD.
Proficient knowledge with advanced p! rogramming languages â€" JAVA, C#.
Strong database development and design skills required.
Knowledge of project management techniques.
Skills & Abilities:
Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Ability to assemble information to resolve and articulate problems; evaluate results.
Must be action and result-oriented with the ability to deal with ambiguity; must possess strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities on a routine basis; reprioritizing as needed to meet commitments and manage expectations.
Ability to write clear, well organized code.
Ability to use operating systems.
Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Ability to determine and research alternative possible causes of problems.
Ability to analyze information and form! ulate conclusions and recommendations.
Skills in coding change! s/enhancements.
Skill in troubleshooting technical problems.

Ability to coordinate multiple activities involving multiple parties.
