Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of New Jersey, BSN r! equired. Master’s Degree preferred. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN), Certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN), Certification in Cardiac Surgery Subspecialty (CSC), Pediatric RN-BC, or Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist-BC (PCNS-BC) preferred. At least five (5) years of nursing experience in surgical or pediatric areas, at least two (2) years of which shall have been in a nursing supervisory/ managerial role. Experience in an academic health center, surgical in-patient, pediatric, or faculty practice setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to assess the needs of acute and chronically ill patients in the pediatric population required. Demonstrated ability to assess pre- and post-operative needs of acute and chronically ill patients required. Demonstrated ability to teach patient families in accordance with the overall plan of care required. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical telephone advice and triage urgent and non-urgent patient calls require! d. The ability to function in a team environment is required. ! Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Basic word processing and computer skills are required. Experience with electronic medical records system required, GE centricity platform preferred. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment required. Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment preferred.
Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager (Sub-Specialty Practice Areas) position is to manage and coordinate the operation of nursing and other clinical staff supporting Sub-Specialty Practice Areas throughout RWJMG.
