The Surgical Research Assistant assists with the execution of the department’s research projects, assuring adherence t! o proper data collection, reporting, and analysis. Responsibilities include research and development in collaboration with others on projects; making detailed observations, analyzing data and interpreting results; preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses. The research Assistant also maintains familiarity with current scientific literature and contributes to the process of a surgical project, including investigating, creating, and developing new methods and technologies for project advancement. He or she may also be responsible for identifying patentable inventions and acting as principal investigator in conducting his or her own experiments. The research Assistant is responsible for generating publishable data and may also be asked to participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals.

Requirements:
MD degree. Minimum 2 years research experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlin! es in a dynamic environment is essential. Requires strong orga! nizational, documentation and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work within a teamoriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.)
