Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience in health care or corporate sectors.

  • Background in CT/Lung Cancer screening preferred.
Job Summary:
The Lung Screening/QA Coordinator will be the primary lead of the Hackensack UMC Lung Cancer Screening Program. This position requires independent leadership to create and implement a regional Lung Cancer Screening Program. Oversight and management of all aspects of this program inclu! ding clinical metrics, financial, marketing of the program, an! d regulatory is required. The coordinator is the primary point of contact for both patients screened through this program, as well as physicians from multiple departments in the hospital including Oncology, Surgery, Pulmonary, Radiology, and Medicine. Organization of monthly meetings of the faculty steering committee and development of scorecard of clinical and financial metrics associated with the program is essential. The Lung Screening/QA Coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for Quality Assurance for JTCC and coordinating the JTCC CT/Lung Cancer Screening Program. This position effectively tracks JTCC quality data from all JTCC services and coordinates CT screening patients through from initial contact through yearly follow up.

Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance):

  • Independently initiates, manages, and oversees a new hospital-wide program for CT/Lung Cancer Screening.
  • Develops scorecard ! and tracking of clinical metrics.
  • Oversees financial aspects including revenue of the Lung Cancer Screening Program.
  • Involvement in marketing of the program regionally and throughout Hackensack UMC.
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies regarding the CT/Lung Cancer Screening Program.
  • Responsible for leading the CT/Lung Cancer Screening program after initiation.
  • Acts as a liaison for the CT/Lung Cancer screening program with JTCC, Radiology, Pulmonology, and all other internal and external departments as needed.
  • Interacts in an appropriate and timely manner to facilitate patients through all CT/Lung Cancer screening appointments and follow-up.
  • Ensures that all CT/Lung Cancer screening patient results are obtained, reviewed, and tracked.
  • Identifies patient issues and collaborates with all departments to initiate changes as needed.
  • In conjunction with the Tumor Registry’s Ope! rations Manager, plans, coordinates, and implements the Quality Managem! ent and Quality Improvement Programs for JTCC.
  • Monitors and provides assistance with the quality assurance and compliance functions.
