English Language Proficiency required DUTIES:
The Emergency Medicine physician is responsible for providing quality care to patients presenting to the East Orange VA Medical Center Emergency Department during shifts which include nights, weekends and holidays. Using his or her professional knowledge and competencies as well as excellent communication skills, the physician works cooperatively with all staff to provide prompt and expert care to emergency patients and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to r! ecruit qualified citizens).
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
Current ACLS/BLS certification.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Emergency Medicine research and publications.
  • Experience in an academic facility.
