Pediatric Interventionalist

A large private practice group of more than 100 radiologists is looking to recruit their first Pediatric Interventionalist to cover the 480 bed children's hospital. They are looking for a radiol! ogist that has either done a Pediatric Interventional fellowship or a dual Pediatric fellowship and an Interventional Radiology fellowship. There is a lot of support for this position as different departments (Plastic Surgery Dept, Pulmonology Dept., Trauma Dept., etc) in the hospital want and are requesting for a Peds IR. There are currently 7.5 Pediatric Radiologists in the group. There are two interventional radiologists currently covering Peds IR and have done around 360 Peds IR cases. Over the next two years the group anticipates growth of upwards to 2,000 Peds IR procedures being performed. The group in total covers 26 hospitals and 15 imaging centers. The group did over 1.6 million RVU's last year and each radiologist does an average of 58 RVU's per day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will allow for ideal candidate to ramp up, direct and design the Peds IR service. Intially you can expect to perform 60% Peds IR and 40% Peds diagnostic, with upwards t! o 100% Peds IR over the next two years. The procedures they ar! e looking for proficiencies in include: peripheral AVM embolizations, bronchial artery embolizations, trauma embolizations, venous access, biopsies, drainages, PICCS, etc... Typical shifts are either 7a-5p or 12p-10p
Peds IR only call will be a 1:3.
Equipment includes a state-of-the-art Seimens bi-plane unit (less than three years old), a 16 and 64 slice CT, 8 Seimens MR units, MEG unit, Fugi PACS, Radware-VR, etc...
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
Initial compensation is negotiable depending on experience.
Partnership tract is 3 years with voting rights after two years and full parity after 3rd year. There is an increase each year until full partner.
8 weeks fixed vacation with an additional 4 weeks flexible vacation (days).
