Collagen Matrix, Inc., located in Oakland, NJ, is a leader in the design and engineering of collagen and mineral-based extracellular matrices for tissu! e and organ repair and regeneration. The Company currently manufactures collagen and mineral-based finished medical devices in the areas of orthopedic-spine surgery, neurosurgery, oral surgery and wound care. We have a new opportunity for Quality Assurance Director
The overall function of this job is to maintain an effective quality management system. Requirements include:
Work with the management team to establish short and long term goals and objectives for quality. Plan and coordinate quality assurance activities between departments. Manage quality assurance staff providing direction as needed and communicate department and company goals and objectives. Ensure that the Company keeps abreast with current regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, FDA, ISO/EN, Canadian MDR, MDD, Australian TGA, etc. Conduct assessment activities including internal quality audits and external supplier audits. Understand the needs and expectations of the customer and tran! slate needs into requirements. Identify and record any problem! s relating to the product, process and Quality Management System. Plan, coordinate, direct and control the quality assurance activities, from the initial planning to the final product, including product modifications. Monitor and control clinical investigators and outside consultants involved in related activities to ensure protocols are adhered to and programs are kept on schedule. Document, evaluate and when required, investigate customer complaints. Review the accuracy of and maintain records directly related to the manufacture inspection or testing of products. Monitor validation/verification activities. Identify special product handling or storage requirements and manage activities related to the handling, storage, labeling, packaging, and delivery of products. Ensure employee competence and awareness, identify training needs and make sure appropriate training is provided. Maintain document control and write/revise procedures. Maintain control of quality records. Ident! ify the need for statistical methods and ensure appropriate product identification and traceability. Evaluate process deviations and determine appropriate actions.
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a minimum of 5+year’s supervisory experience plus either a bachelor’s degree/equivalent in the biological sciences. Medical device experience a plus.
