Ideal applicant will have a strong background in angiography with an emphasis in endovascular neurosurgery and ability to assume role as scrub tech t! o the physician. Must have strong critical thinking skills, knowledge of neuro anatomy and work well under pressure and high volume situations. Experience preparing balloons, stents, and coils for the physician. Position requires minimum of 1 week of call per month.
Job Summary:
Performs specialized and complex procedures involved in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system.
Modifies monitoring techniques to accommodate a diverse variety of intraoperative situations in order to detect and avoid potential damage to the neural structure of the patient during surgery.
Works under general direction and oversight of a requesting surgeon.
Requirements:
One year experience specifically in intraoperative neuromonitoring, and proof of competency in the following of modalities in IONM and other specialized procedures as appropriate to CH practice: somatosensory ev! oked potentials, spontaneous and evoked electromyography, elec! troencephalography, and motor evoked potentials.
Associate's Degree in a biological science required with equivalent number of years of experience as a technician in a health care diagnostic procedure setting to offset a Bachelors Degree.
Credentialed as a R. EEG T., R. EP T., or RNCST by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) required. Certification in neurophysiological intraoperative monitoring (CNIM) required. Application of extensive knowledge in neuroanesthesia and its effect on neuromonitoring. Knowledge and application of current practices in neuromonitoring, maintained through extensive reading of published literature and practice standards.
The American Board of Neurophysiologic Monitoring (ABNM) or the American Board of Registration of EEG (electroencephalography) and EP Technologists (ABRET)
